This group focuses on strengthening core skills, filling gaps in understanding, and helping your child feel secure with the foundations they’ll need for future success.

Pre-GCSE Confidence Booster

(Year 9)

Designed for students who are closer to starting GCSE but still need extra support with the basics.

 

This group helps reinforce key foundations, boost confidence, and ensure your child feels ready and prepared before moving into a GCSE-focused group.

Thursdays 5pm, £25 per week

Over the course of the programme, your child will:

Join engaging, weekly small-group live lessons led by our passionate Expert Tutor, Portia.

Work through key KS3 Maths topics in a structured, confidence-boosting way.​

Follow along with interactive lesson booklets – great for note-taking and revision.

Get personalised feedback and progress reports every week (emailed directly to you as a parent).

Receive optional, targeted homework activities, including exam-style questions.

Access lesson recordings for catch-up and revision at any time.

Message Portia between sessions via WhatsApp for extra help with any tricky questions.

  • How long do we have to sign up for?
    To start, we recommend booking a single lesson as a trial. After that, there is no long-term commitment; you simply book and pay on a monthly basis.
  • How much do sessions cost?
    Our small group tuition sessions start from £25, while one-to-one sessions begin at £30.
  • Can I try a session before committing?
    Yes! We suggest beginning with a single lesson as a trial. This allows us to ensure we have paired your child with the most suitable tutor.
  • How do online lessons work?
    Lessons are delivered via secure video conferencing tools such as Zoom or Google Meet. Students can see their tutor, share screens, and work interactively in real time.
  • What subjects do you offer?
    We offer tuition in a wide range of subjects including English, Maths, and Science, from Key Stage 1 up to GCSE and A-Level. Please contact us for specific subject availability.
  • Are the sessions one-to-one or in groups?
    We offer both one-to-one and small group sessions. You can choose the option that best suits your child’s needs and learning style.
  • Can we book both group sessions and 1:1 lessons?
    Yes, students can book individual 1:1 lessons in addition to the booster groups if they need more personalised support on specific topics.
  • Who are the tutors?
    Our tutors are experienced professionals with expertise in their subject areas. They are carefully vetted and hand-picked by Portia to ensure high-quality tuition.
  • What technology do we need for online lessons?
    You will need a stable internet connection and a computer or tablet. That's it!
  • Do you provide learning materials?
    Yes, we provide all necessary materials and resources. After each lesson, students may also receive homework or revision tasks for extra practice.
  • How long are the lessons?
    Lesson lengths vary based on the subject and level of study. Typically, sessions range from 30 minutes to an hour
  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
    We request as much notice as possible when cancelling a lesson. 1:1 Lessons You may cancel one 1:1 lesson per term (three times a year) without being charged, provided you give at least 48 hours' notice. Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged in full. Group Lessons If you miss a group lesson, the tutor will record it for you to catch up at your convenience.
  • How do I pay for lessons?
    Payments can be made online via our secure payment system. Payments are made monthly by the 1st day of each month.
