🌱 Gardening - plants don’t grow from one day of effort… they thrive from regular care.

What tuition has looked like recently. 📐

From one-to-one sessions to our Pass GCSE Maths Booster Group, our students have been tackling key maths topics and building confidence along the way.

In a recent 1:1 session, this student began learning how to solve two-step linear equations. We kept the process visual, using bar models to represent each equation, helping her see how to "undo" each operation step by step and work backwards to find the value of 𝑥.

Meanwhile, in our Pass GCSE Maths Booster Group, students worked on a tricky Grade 5 topic: finding the equation of a straight line by calculating the gradient, identifying the y-intercept, and combining these to form the equation.

Every lesson is designed to break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps so students feel confident tackling challenging questions.

This is what happens when learning is visual, structured, and tailored to what students need. 💙

This week has been a week of conversations. 🗨️

I’ve been chatting to lots of teachers (and ex-teachers) who are planning to, or have recently left the classroom. So many of them went into teaching for the right reasons: to support children and young people, build confidence, offer stability and be that safe, consistent role model.

And yet… for many, the reality isn’t matching what they imagined it would be. 💔

I’ve also been having lots of conversations with parents of young people who feel like the education system has failed them... They’ve been left to fend for themselves and seek other options like private tuition.

Don’t get me wrong: there are some amazing schools out there doing brilliant things and supporting their staff well.

But more and more, I’m hearing the same themes come up:

😭 Constant supply teachers
😭 Disrupted learning
😭 Random one-off lessons delivered by non-specialist teachers
😭 A significant lack of support for children with additional learning and emotional needs

It’s really sad, and honestly, it’s something I am hearing every day.
